Andrew Bacher-Hicks

I am the Vice President of Evidence and Evaluation at Arnold Ventures, based out of their New York office. I oversee Arnold Ventures’ philanthropic support for rigorous evaluation studies and efforts to expand government investments to proven programs that benefit American families, communities, and businesses.

Formerly, I was a professor at Boston University's Wheelock College of Education & Human Development, where I studied the causes and consequences of inequality.

My work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as the American Economic Review: Insights, American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, and Journal of Public Economics. It has also been featured in various media outlets such as The New York Times, Washington Post, and Boston Globe.

I received my Ph.D. in Public Policy from Harvard University in 2020.
